Recovery Day 48 - 3rd February 2013

I have tried various things to try and prevent the groggy / hungover feeling of a morning. I've tried sleeping with the window open, the heating off and less pillows to name but a few. Nothing seems to be working at all. Every morning I wake up with the same thick head. This feeling is taking me back to the early condylar hyperplasia days when waking up with headaches was a daily occurrence. I'm back with Mr D on Thursday so I'm going to mention this too him. I think that it might be the way my teeth are sitting and clenching in their new position while I'm asleep. This may also explain sore gums and teeth too. Despite waking up groggy I have had a few good nights sleep over the last few days which has made life easier. My concern with feeling so awful in the morning is, the headaches are that bad it's a struggle to get up. Apart from the groggy head and some earache the pain is bearable.

After some painkillers and my antibiotics I spent some time setting my new iPhone up, it took ages and in the end I just wanted to throw it out of the window!! For lunch I had left over curry and saag aloo from last night, oh goodness it tasted so good!!

In the afternoon I went out with mum, we went to the beauty salon and had semi permanent eyelashes put on. I'm up for doing anything these days that will cheer me up. Normally a big part of my life is getting dressed up and socialising by going out for meals with friends and family. At the moment there's no way I can do that so I've turned to beautifying myself as a substitute. The lashes take over and hour to put on but they look amazing and you can't even feel you've got them on.

After the appointment (where I'd chatted for two hours) I was in agony my lips were are ripped open from my brace (now, I can't feel my lips but I can feel them hurting??? Strange) The muscles in my face where aching and my top lip felt all weird and tingly. After the lash appointment I just chilled out at mum and dads with Matt.

For tea mum made corned beef hash with mashed beans, oh it was yummy and the perfect consistency for my painful face. I made the dessert for the family which was banoffe pie, I just ate the cream and toffee sauce and that was nice too.

By 9pm my face was in agony. My bottom lip had swollen with the cuts from my brace, shooting pains were bouncing round my face left, right and centre and I couldn't speak properly I was so sore. We went home and I went to bed, took some painkillers and covered my brace in wax to help protect my lips. I feel asleep reasonably easily.
